Sony PlayStation: 2 live service games by April 2023, is one the multiplayer of The Last of Us 2?

Sony PlayStation aims to release two new live service games on PS5 and (possibly) PS4 by the end of the current fiscal year, which ends on April 30, 2023. The confirmation came from an official document of the company where it detailed its business related to video games.

As already reported in previous news, from one of the graphs in the document we learned that Sony intends to publish 12 live service titles by 2025, exponentially increasing the investments made in this sector, as well as on PC and Mobile.

As we can see from the graph above, Sony currently considers the existence of only one live service game in its portfolio, namely MLB The Show 22 , but aims to rise to three by the end of the current fiscal year. This means that two more live service titles will be released on PlayStation consoles between now and April 2023. What will they be?

At the moment there is nothing official, but considering the rumors and information of the last few months, we can make some assumptions.

The alleged reboot of Twisted Metal that we have talked about several times in the past, as well as the new cooperative multiplayer game by Guerrilla Games, the authors of Horizon Forbidden West, cannot be excluded. Less likely, however, are the mysterious PS5 exclusives in development at PlayStation London Studios (given that the project still seems to be in an embryonic phase) and Insomaniac Games (which is currently developing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Marvel’s Wolverine).

That said, there are many PlayStation Studios teams that could potentially be working on live service games yet to be revealed, without forgetting Sony’s agreements with third parties for PlayStation exclusives, such as those signed with Deviation Games and Firewalk.
