The Witcher 4, CDPR confirms: The new SAGA enters pre-production

In presenting the latest report on the financial results of CD Projekt, the representatives of the Polish software house confirm that they have already started the development of the New Saga of The Witcher on Unreal Engine 5: the next chapter of the iconic role-playing series has officially entered the phase pre-production.

To reiterate this is the same exponent of CD Projekt RED Piotr Nielubowicz in the video packaged by the European company to report to its shareholders the results obtained by the authors of The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 during the first half of 2022.

CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski also confirms the start of work on The Witcher 4 (tentative name) and points out that he and his team are “very eager to revisit and return to the universe he has helped shape so much of our story.

We have recently concluded the research phase for the pre-production of the first video game of the New Saga of The Witcher, which means that from now on further development expenses to be incurred will be capitalized in the budget”.

Starting from the next financial report by CD Projekt, therefore, we will know the real extent of the investments made by the Polish company to shape the next, highly anticipated chapter of The Witcher role-playing saga. In the meantime, we remind Strigo fans that CD Projekt has set the new launch window for The Witcher 3 nextgen update for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S, indicating it for the fourth quarter of 2022.
