The Callisto Protocol is no longer set in the PUBG universe, the horror will be independent

Glen Schofield – CEO of Striking Distance Studios and creator of The Callisto Protocol – said the horror game is no longer a part of the PUBG narrative universe. Previously, it had been stated that, albeit with distant references, The Callisto Protocol would have been linked to the battle royale.

Via Twitter, Schofield writes: “Just so you know, The Callisto Protocol is independent in terms of history and world. It no longer takes place in the PUBG universe. It was initially part of the PUBG timeline but has grown large enough to have its own world. PUBG is phenomenal and we still have some surprises for the fans, but The Callisto Protocol has its own world, its own story and its own universe. ”

The Callisto Protocol follows Jacob Lee as he tries to escape from a prison on Jupiter’s moon Callisto. The place is full of monsters known as Biophages. To fight them, the protagonist can use a stick, a pistol and a shotgun, as well as an object called GRP that can move enemies and objects around him.

The author also stated that The Callisto Protocol will be “scary, dark, disturbing and unpleasant”.
