Xiaomi has patented a new design related to a clamshell folding smartphone. The device looks surprisingly inspired by the Google Pixel 6. The patent filed by the Chinese manufacturer with CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) contains images that show a device clearly inspired by Google Pixel 6 as regards the rear camera module. In fact, you can see the protruding bar that goes from one side of the smartphone to the other and that in this case includes three lenses.

This Xiaomi smartphone seems to fold in the middle and in the open position no hinge is visible. The back of the device is curved and the look of the front also brings to mind the Google Pixel 6.
At the bottom, you can see a USB Type-C port, the main speaker and a SIM card tray, while all the physical buttons are located on the right side of the device and include the power/lock button and volume keys.
The front view shows no holes or cutouts in the display, so this foldable smartphone should include a selfie camera below the screen. It is worth clarifying that manufacturers register numerous patents, but most do not translate into products that actually arrive on the market, however, it has been rumored for some time that Xiaomi has plans to announce a second-generation MIX Fold smartphone and its first device. clamshell folding which might be what we’re talking about.
