Google’s Super GAU: Secret codes reveal the state of the Pixel 7 prototypes

If we assume that Google has “lost” several devices, then this is of course a super GAU for the company. And not for the first time in recent weeks. First, the Google Pixel Watch “accidentally” remained in a bar. Now there were Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro to buy on marketplaces like eBay. However, the devices are far from finished, but why already in circulation?

Google has only a few devices in circulation

You can see what condition the devices that have now been withdrawn from circulation are in. The small code “EVT” is crucial for this. This stands for devices that should look and work something like this when they are on the shelves of retailers as final hardware. There are usually less than 50 produced models in this stage, which are internally on the road at the manufacturer or OEM.

Preparation for market launch still takes a long time

This is followed by two more stages before mass production of the new hardware starts. Google is aiming for this plan for the late summer. Experience has shown that the design of the Pixel smartphones is already ready during the current EVT phase. Google has already presented itself with graphics. If anything, there are probably only small improvements and changes.

Google leaks have been unusually curious and early for years

Due to the few devices, Google should actually be able to find out who lost their prototypes. Or was robbed. Currently, everyone assumes that the actual owner of the devices can do nothing about it. I’m curious to see if Google ever comments on these repetitive incidents. But at most, this happens at some point in the face of the American press.
