You can set the Street View car as a vehicle on Google Maps

Google Street View has just turned fifteen and its role within Google Maps is increasingly useful and significant, which is why you might decide to pay it a nice tribute by setting the Street View car as a navigation vehicle on Maps. Below we will explain how to do it in a few simple steps.

In recent weeks we have talked to you about certainly more interesting news about Google Maps, from the announcements of the Google I / O 2022 to its being part of the Android ecosystem, passing through the need for optimization for tablet and the arrival of the fuel price in Italy. Today we are going to discover a small function that is much less essential but much more sympathetic.

How to set up a Street View car on Google Maps

Let’s start by saying that the function in question does not add any particular capacity to your Google Maps and that, in any case, it is only a new icon (there is also the possibility to choose among those already available previously).

If you have used Google Maps in the past few days and have not seen any pop-up prompts that would allow you to activate the Street View car as a navigation icon, here are the few simple steps you need to follow to set it manually:

  • Open the Google Maps app.
  • Find a destination to start navigation (real or fictional, it doesn’t matter) and tap Start.
  • Tap on the navigation icon currently set (an arrow or a blue dot).
  • On the screen that appears, scroll to view all the icons available, the last one is that of the Google Street View car.
  • Tap the Google Street View car icon and that’s it.

There is also a shorter way:

  • Open the Google Maps app.
  • Find a destination to start navigation (real or fictional, it doesn’t matter).
  • Before you even tap Start, you should see the Google Street View car icon.
  • Tap it and, in the pop-up screen that opens, select Go to board.
