Android 12 for Mi 10, other updates for Mi 10 Pro, Redmi K30S Ultra

Xiaomi is not exactly the first Android OEM that comes to mind when it comes to software updates, however the Chinese manufacturer, which at the moment is focusing strongly on the Xiaomi 12 series flagships – find our Xiaomi 12 Pro reviews at these links, Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X -, it has not been forgotten in previous generations: here then there are new updates to report for Xiaomi Mi 10 5G, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and also for the less famous Redmi K30S Ultra.

Xiaomi Mi 10 5G, Mi 10 Pro, Redmi K30S Ultra: the news of the updates

The trio protagonist of these updates is therefore composed of two Xiaomi-branded smartphones and a Redmi. Without further ado, let’s find out what’s new with a premise: for one of them a highly anticipated major update is being distributed, and the other two are noted for rather unusual diligence for the manufacturer.

Xiaomi Mi 10 5G: Android 12 con MIUI 13 Global Stable

The one in rollout for Xiaomi Mi 10 5G is undoubtedly the most interesting update covered here. The Xiaomi flagship of two generations ago is in fact receiving the major update including Android 12 and MIUI 13 in the Global Stable version.

More precisely, in recent days the Chinese manufacturer first reported the MIUI-V13.0.5.0.SJBEUXM – therefore for the European model -, marking it as Partial Release and specifying that the roll out does not concern some markets (Poland, France and Germany ) and then started the roll-out also for the global model : here too a partial release of the MIUI-V13.0.4.0.SJBMIXM build.

Having made these clarifications, it is from the latter that we learn more details about the update: it is a Stable Beta build, therefore with still reduced availability, the OTA file weighs 3.5 GB and there are new security patches, however, still in April 2022. Here is the official changelog of the update:

Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30S Ultra already have the June security patches

Today is the sixth day of June 2022 and if we were talking about other manufacturers – ie Samsung or Google – we would not be too surprised to see the security patches of the current month being distributed, however here we are talking about Xiaomi and Redmi and therefore the surprise for the speed of distribution is undeniable.

Well, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro and Redmi K30S Ultra (which after all, is nothing more than a Xiaomi Mi 10T in disguise) are currently receiving the security patches for June 2022. If this is the good news, the bad news is that in both cases the update is exclusive to the Chinese market, there is no mention of the global variants.

That said, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro (China) receives the build V13.0.4.0.SJACNXM (Android 12) with an update from 4.7 GB, while Redmi K30S Ultra the V13.0.5.0.SJDCNXM (Android 12) with a 4.6 GB update. In both cases, it is a Stable Beta build and the changelog (reported by MIUI Updates Tracker) is very short:

(System)

  • Updated Android Security Patch to June 2022. Increased system security.
