Does the Sony Xperia 1 IV have overheating problems?

Does the Sony Xperia 1 IV have overheating problems? If you can understand the first reports from users who have already used the new Sony flagship, this smartphone also seems to be struggling with heat problems.

The well-known Qualcomm problem also seems to strike again with the Sony Xperia 1 IV. What is meant is the excessive heat development of the flagship SoC. It’s nothing new and caused problems for many other manufacturers who used the current Snapdragon SoCs.

In the case of the Sony Xperia 1 IV, the 120 Hz display mode should be deactivated when the temperature is too high, and that appears at a cool 23° ambient temperature. The CPU should then already reach a temperature of around 45° Celsius, which would be twice as warm as the ambient temperature.

Sony is said to have already rolled out the first firmware update in Asia, which should alleviate the overheating problem a little. Let’s see whether Sony got the problem under control when the Xperia 1 IV went on sale in Germany.
