Google: Improvements and extra features for Classroom and Workspace

Google continues to update Classroom and Workspace for Education and adds a series of life-enhancing options for kids and teachers who still attend school remotely or who, in general, rely on the tools offered by the Californian company to complete their teaching.

WORKSPACE

In Workspace, for example, from today it is possible to automatically transcribe Meet calls on a text sheet of Documents, in order to speed up the unwinding operations. In addition, in the Meet sessions it is possible to propose polls and question and answer sessions, broadcast public events (such as school assemblies) in streaming, or manage student presentations and works more immediately and efficiently.

NEW ALSO ON CLASSROOM AND NOT ONLY

On the Classroom front (stable version), on the other hand, teachers can take advantage of the EdPuzzle tool to automatically evaluate students’ homework and can use the Pear Deck extension to create automatic assessment tests using the lessons carried out.

YouTube also arrives on Classroom, whose videos can be integrated into lessons. With the latest update, it will also be possible to export votes and receive updates via email notifications. Later, but again within the year, teachers will also be able to reply directly to students through notifications arriving on Gmail.

Finally, Google is also updating its Read-Along app, designed to help little ones learn to read. The beta of a web version should arrive next month which would allow students not to have to use smartphones or tablets.
