Battlefield 2042 Season 1 kicks off amidst major technical problems, Dice Intervenes

June 9, 2022, marks the beginning of Season 1 of Battlefield 2042, which brings with it the new Exposition map, the Specialist Ewelina Lis and a series of new contents including equipment and a full-bodied Battle Pass. But the launch doesn’t seem to have gone perfectly.

In fact, it seems that many users are unable to access the game due to major technical problems: in particular, the error message ” unable to load persistence data ” is reported which already afflicted the debut of the base game at the end of 2021, and which is meaning malfunctions with EA’s servers and related connectivity. DICE recognized the problem and confirmed that it is already working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

In addition, due to the situation, the developers have temporarily disabled the possibility of receiving the rewards provided by the Battle Pass for those who have managed to start the game, in order to avoid further inconveniences. Those who are already progressing in the Battle Pass, however, will receive all rewards as soon as they are reactivated. At one point it also seemed that DICE had managed to solve the problem, which however reappeared shortly after forcing the authors to get back to work.

Just a day earlier, Jeff Grubb had revealed that the team working on Battlefield 2042 had been cut to the bone, with EA promptly stepping in to disprove the insider’s words.
