Samsung promotes One UI Galaxy theme, but uses iPhone bangs

According to the latest reports, Samsung using the iPhone to release official Twitter is nothing new. The company’s marketing team has made such mistakes in the past, and it looks like Samsung is at it again. This time, Samsung is referencing the Apple iPhone in its own membership app.

According to reports, a Samsung community manager in South Korea has put up a banner on the membership app to promote Samsung’s One UI Galaxy theme. However, the banner shows an iPhone notch-style mockup rather than a Galaxy smartphone, which is quite unusual. Visually, the stylized model is a rough representation of the iPhone X, iPhone 11, or iPhone 12.

It’s as if the person making the promotional banner is unfamiliar with Samsung Galaxy devices. But according to TizenHelp, the banner was posted by a Samsung community manager, making things worse.

The iPhone notch screen is a unique design that is very easy to identify. That’s why generic iPhone designs are often used as advertisements for third-party apps, even in the Google Play Store. However, this time the Samsung membership banner image is supposed to promote the Galaxy theme, so using the iPhone notch design is inappropriate and controversial, and may also attract ridicule from others.
