iOS 16 Beta is suspected of triggering the iPhone AOD screen display

Apple released iOS 16, and iPadOS 16 systems, and has released the first developer preview Beta. Previously, the iOS 16 code was leaked, which mentioned the Always On Display (AOD) function, which is exclusive to the upcoming iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Recently, some users said that when charging the device all night and picking it up in the morning, it was suspected that the error or hint displayed on the AOD screen was triggered, and it has been reproduced several times.

There are other users who have posted related videos, it is not clear whether it is caused by a bug. Display analyst Ross Young previously revealed that the ProMotion display used in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max supports a 1Hz refresh rate, which is expected to achieve longer battery life or an off-screen display.

For comparison, the iPhone 13 Pro series, released last year, was the first model in Apple’s smartphones to feature a 120Hz ProMotion display, with an adjustable refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz. In late May, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman also said that iOS 16 may provide the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max with an off-screen display function that is unique to the iPhone 14 Pro series.
