Samsung Galaxy S20: More and more users are reporting display problems

A few months ago, some Samsung Galaxy S20 users reported seeing a green or pink line running vertically across the screen. The issues seem to be escalating in recent weeks as complaints have been piling up on various online platforms, including the official Samsung Community forums and Twitter.

The lines pop up randomly with no physical damage to the phones. There is no specific area where the lines appear, all three Galaxy S20 models are affected. Some users first encountered the issue after installing a new OTA software update, while others may not be related to an update.

Some affected users have also reported that the lines stretch out over time, covering more screen real estate. For others, multiple lines appear on the display. Samsung has not yet officially confirmed this display issue on the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra.

The display problems on the Samsung Galaxy S20 phones seem to never end. The cell phones had problems with the screen from the start. Many users reported a green tint on their brand new flagship. Samsung has fixed this with software updates, but the problems have apparently not completely disappeared.

The latest reports follow another major issue that emerged in the first half of 2021. It made many Galaxy S20 devices unusable. The origin of the problem was similar to this case. People saw some lines appear on the screen and gradually spread to cover the entire display. At this point, the display becomes unreadable and the phone becomes unusable.

It looks like the current issue is a repeat of last year’s issue. It may be a hardware issue in the Galaxy S20 phones that is now affecting more devices. The only way out is to replace the screen. Unfortunately, the 2020 Samsung flagships have been on sale for more than two years and only a few are likely to be still under warranty.
