Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog recently shared a message on Twitter that prompted fans to believe he is playing God of War Ragnarok on PS5. As you can see above, Cory Barlog writes: “Steam Deck is here … but I probably won’t play it for a while because I’m currently playing this other thing …”. Of course, Barlog can’t say it’s God of War Ragnarok, but considering it’s Santa Monica Studio’s game of the moment it’s credible that that’s what it is.
Unlike the first chapter, God of War Ragnarok is not directed by Barlog, but the creative is still an important voice when it comes to sharing news for the game. He also recently replied to a claim from David Jaffe – the original creator of God of War – that a leaker allegedly told him that Ragnarok may not be arriving in 2022. Barlog responded to Jaffe’s tweet with a bewildered tone. As if he was not aware of this thing: clearly it was a way to silence this umpteenth rumor about the release date of the game.
For now, there is nothing left to do but wait for official news.
