Poco C40: Entry-level smartphone with an unusual SoC

The Poco C40 is a new entry-level smartphone from the Chinese brand that has also been launched for the international market. Two aspects of this device are exciting. On the one hand, a massive battery with 6,000 mAh and 18-watt charging is installed, which should ensure long runtimes. On the other hand, there is a rather “unusual” SoC inside: the JLQ JR510.

This octa-core chip uses four cores clocked at 2 GHz and four at 1.5 GHz. The Mali-G52 serves as the GPU. The performance can probably be compared to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450. An LC display with a diagonal of 6.71 inches and HD+ resolution is also installed. The front camera sits in a notch and has 5 megapixels.

On the back, we not only find the fingerprint scanner but also the dual main camera with 13 (wide angle) + 2 (depth sensor) megapixels. The Poco C40 will be available in black, yellow, and green.

There is a choice between a variant with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage space and a model with 4/64 GB. The prices should vary depending on the region, let’s see if the Poco C40 will also reach Germany.
