Over the past 12 months, more than 1.2 million developers signed up to use the GitHub Copilot preview, Microsoft GitHub said. Of the files enabled, GitHub said that nearly 40% of the code was written by Copilot.

Copilot is available to all developers starting today, and supports a 60-day free trial. That is to say, if current users do not subscribe, they will no longer be able to use Copilot on August 22.
