Facebook Pay will be rebranded as Meta Pay but features little change

Meta Pay

Meta Pay

According to Neowin, Meta has announced that Facebook Pay will be renamed Meta Pay. This appears to be just a rebranding exercise, as the company confirmed that Meta Pay will function the same as Facebook Pay. The company also said that if the user has already set up Facebook Pay, no action is required to set up Meta Pay because it is already done. This name change will appear first in the United States and then in other countries over time.

Similar to the Facebook to Meta rebrand, the Facebook Pay to Meta Pay rebrand should be a signal that the company is committed to the metaverse. As Meta invests more and more in the Metaverse, Meta Pay will also play a more important role.

Meta doesn’t exactly have the best reputation when it comes to trust issues, but the company says it has been offering secure payments in 55 currencies in 160 countries since 2009. Payment card numbers are encrypted and have anti-fraud monitoring to detect unauthorized activity. Users can also prevent unauthorized payments by using a password or fingerprint.

If the user has not used Facebook Pay before, you will need to set up your Meta Pay from scratch. If users want to do this, just go to payment settings, enter their payment information, and use the Meta Pay button when shopping online. Meta Pay supports most credit and debit cards, as well as PayPal and Shop pay.
