Tesla re-launches EAP assisted driving service in the US for $6,000

Tesla has several assisted driving services: AP is called Autopilot, which is divided into basic automatic assisted driving (BAP) and enhanced automatic assisted driving (EAP), while the full name of FSD is It is Full Self-Driving Computer, which is fully autonomous driving.

After upgrading FSD Beta, Tesla canceled the EAP service in the United States. Now Tesla has re-launched EAP in the United States at a price of $6,000, including automatic assisted lane change, automatic navigation driving, automatic parking, Summons, Smart Summons, and more.

In contrast, Tesla’s FSD Beta is currently priced at $12,000 and can provide stronger and more comprehensive assisted driving functions in the United States, Canada and other places. In addition, Tesla plans to expand FSD to the European market this summer.

Tesla AP, that is, the basic version of the automatic assisted driving function, is included with the car, and EAP requires additional money. There are only two functions provided by Tesla AP: adaptive cruise and lane-keeping.

The new features of EAP Enhanced Auto Assisted Driving (¥ 32000) include:

  • Automated Assisted Navigation Driving: Automatically drive in and out of highway ramps or overpass forks, overtaking slow-moving vehicles.
  • Automatic Assisted Lane Change: Automatically assists lane change on the highway.
  • Automatic parking: parallel parking and vertical parking.
  • Smart Summon: Under the right circumstances, a parked vehicle will respond to your call, exit the parking space and head to your location.

FSD fully autonomous driving function (¥ 64000)

Includes all features of Basic Assisted Driving and Enhanced Autonomous Assisted Driving. In the future, it will also support: Recognizing and reacting to traffic lights and stop signs; Automatically assisting driving on city streets.

Of course, the currently available features require active monitoring by the driver, and the vehicle is not yet fully autonomous. Activation and use of the above features will require billions of miles of driving to achieve reliability far beyond that of a human driver; it also depends on administrative approval (which may take longer in some jurisdictions). Your vehicle will continue to be updated through OTA software updates as the above-mentioned self-driving features evolve and improve.
