Windows 11 Build 25145 is now available to users in the Dev Channel, with several small new features worth noting. For example, Build 25145 brings closer integration between OneDrive and Settings. Likewise, it has improved Narrator braille driver support and added a new local administrator password solution.
These improvements are only available to members of the Dev Channel. According to the release notes, Windows 11 Build 25145 adds a Braille driver solution. Braille devices will now work better, the company says, because they can switch smoothly between the Narrator program and third-party screen readers because Narrator will automatically change the braille driver.
To get started, users must remove Narrator’s current braille support, if it’s already installed, by visiting Settings > Apps > Optional Features > Installed Features. In the “Installed Features” section, search for “Accessibility” expand the option to let you view Braille, and finally uninstall the feature.
After removing the existing feature, you can download Braille by going to Settings > Accessibility > Narrator > Braille. Once you’re done, head to Settings > Accessibility > Narrator > Braille to start using the drivers available on the screen.
One of the key features of Windows 11 Build 25145 is deeper OneDrive integration. As you probably know, Microsoft has been working on OneDrive integration for Windows 11 22H2. OneDrive can now be configured as the default File Explorer folder, so you can easily access documents and other files stored in cloud storage services.
Build 25145 introduces the OneDrive subscription management experience for the Accounts page in Settings. You’ll notice the OneDrive standalone 100GB subscription on the account page, allowing you to see your current cloud storage usage, recurring billing, payment methods, and more.
Since OneDrive is deeply integrated into Settings, you’ll get notifications about cloud storage in the Windows Settings app. This happens when OneDrive’s storage limit is approached or exceeded. A banner will also appear on the account settings page, alerting you to your OneDrive storage usage.
As mentioned at the outset, Windows 11 has other OneDrive-related improvements. For example, users can add OneDrive folders directly to the sidebar of File Explorer. Likewise, you can configure OneDrive as the “home” of your file manager. It will provide quick access to items stored in cloud storage.
It’s worth noting that there’s no guarantee that these new integrations will make their way into Windows 11’s next big update, but it’s possible that these changes will roll out as part of a cumulative update in the near future.
