God of War: Can you go to Asgard or not?

During the events of the last God of War, players can move between the different realms that make up the universe of Norse mythology using the device of the Bifrost, which is located in the center of the great Lake of Nine garrisoned by the Serpent of the World.

Among the many realms that can be reached and explored using this system, obviously excluding the initial Midgard, are the following: Alfheim, Helheim, Jotunheim, Muspelheim, and Niflheim. The last two are secret and dedicated to endgame activities: if you want to find out how to reach them, consult our guide to unlocking all the kingdoms of God of War.

As you may have noticed, there is one big absentee on the list: Asgard. As explained during the main story of the game, in fact, the kingdom that serves as the abode of the Norse gods has been sealed by Odin himself to prevent access to anyone. As a result, unfortunately, players cannot visit Asgard in any way, as there are no tricks, secrets, or additional downloadable content that makes this fascinating place available.

However, there is good news for all lovers of the series and Norse mythology: it will be possible to reach Asgard during the events of God of War Ragnarok, the new chapter of the series whose release is scheduled for 2022 on PS5 and PS4. Returning instead to the adventure of 2018, do you know why Baldur is looking for Kratos in God of War?
