Stardew Valley continues to get support from Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, with the upcoming arrival of a 1.6 update that demonstrates that there is still activity behind the famous farming life simulation and beyond.

It is not really new content, however: as explained by the developer, the new update is mainly based on support for modding tools, so it is in effect an update that prepares the way for the next introduction of new content, but these will come through mods, which will be applicable with greater ease and security.

ConcernedApe has also answered some questions from fans, explaining precisely the mid-centric nature of update 1.6 and leaving the door open to a possible update 1.7, which could mean the continuation of support for Stardew Valley, despite the developer being now busy with other projects.

Speaking of the latter, he also reported that Haunted Chocolatier, the new game in development, could contain connections and references to Stardew Valley, even if he cannot yet say how deep these are, given that above all he wants the new game to have an identity of its own.
