Tesla opens the number 800 supercharger station in Europe

Tesla continues undaunted to inaugurate new Supercharger stations across Europe, especially now that we are approaching the summer holidays. In particular, today 30 June the big T opened its 800th charging location in the old continent.

Around 9,000 Supercharger charging stations are distributed in these 800 locations, spread to over 30 countries in Europe – thanks to the opening of the first station in Latvia at the beginning of June 2022. Station number 800 in particular was opened in France: the Avignon Supercharger is located along the road to Marseille and on the French Riviera and has 28 charging bays. There are certainly many but we are still far from the record of the Nebbenes station, in Norway, which boasts as many as 44 different stalls.

A significant leap forward for Tesla, which at the opening of the first 6 Supercharger stations in Europe in August 2013 each location had only 4 stalls. Today, in 2022, the average number of charging bays is 11 per station. We must not forget the technological improvements made in recent years, with charging powers reaching 250 kW thanks to the Supercharger V3 ( with the Tesla Model 3 to the Supercharger V3 ).

If all these stations have so far been reserved for Tesla vehicles only, the company has a project to open all its stalls to any electric car, as long as it has the compatible charging standard (CCS Combo 2). The project is currently active in 13 countries for a total of 250 locations and 3,600 Supercharger columns.

Unfortunately, Italy is still absent from these, but we hope to have this service as soon as possible, in the coming months. Thanks to this project, Tesla has become the de facto largest public fast-charging network operator in Europe with charging stations of 150 kW and more. In our country, in the meantime, 50 stations have been exceeded, here is the updated map of Tesla Superchargers in Italy.
