Ubisoft is about to shut down the old Assassins Creed servers and many other games

As has already happened to many video games of the past decades, very soon also numerous Ubisoft titles will see their multiplayer components permanently retire.

With the aim of focusing its resources on the most recent experiences, Ubisoft has announced that on September 1st it will shut down the servers of many of its titles, including Far Cry 3 (PC, PS3, Xbox 360), Ghost Recon Future Soldier (PS3 and Xbox 360), Rayman Legends (PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U), Splinter Cell: Blacklist (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC), ZombiU (WiiU) and several video games from the Assassin’s Creed series, such as the second chapter (PS3 and PC ), Brotherhood (PS3, Xbox 360 and PC), Revelations (PS3 and Xbox 360) and Assassin’s Creed 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii U).

From the date indicated, therefore, the owners of the aforementioned games will no longer be able to play multiplayer, access the online features and link the Ubisoft account. In some specific cases, such as in the PC versions of Assassin’s Creed 3, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD and Driver San Francisco, download, installation and access to DLCs will also be disabled.
