Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the maxi-expansion of the hunting game for PC and Nintendo Switch, has reached 2 million copies between those sold digitally and those distributed in the retail version. At the same time, the base game has recently passed the milestone of 10 million copies, confirming another great success for the Japanese company.
The Sunbreak expansion of Monster Hunter Rise is available from June 30 on PC and Nintendo Switch, which means that the milestone of two million copies sold/distributed has been reached in less than a week. As proof of Sunbreak’s great success, Steam has also broken the record of contemporary players ever recorded by the game since its debut.
As mentioned at the beginning, Capcom also announced that Monster Hunter Rise has totaled 10 million copies among those sold digitally and distributed in a retail version. As of May, the game was at 9 million copies.
Monster Hunter World, on the other hand, reached 21 million copies distributed and is still Capcom’s most successful game ever. The latter compared to Rising obviously benefits from the fact that it has been available in stores for much longer and for a greater number of platforms. In total, the Monster Hunter series has reached the milestone of 84 million copies distributed worldwide.
