Rivian produced 4,401 vehicles in Q2, with a full-year target of 25,000 vehicles

The US electric vehicle company Rivian has produced more than 4,000 vehicles in the second quarter of this year, and it aims to produce 25,000 vehicles by 2022. Rivian said in a statement that it produced 4,401 electric R1T pickups and R1S SUVs and delivered 4,467 vehicles to customers in the second quarter.

At last year’s IPO roadshow, Rivian had expected to produce 50,000 vehicles by 2022. Rivian lowered its production target in March, mainly because global supply chain problems affected production, but Rivisna changed its rhetoric on Wednesday, expecting to produce 25,000 vehicles this year.

Rivian is still small in terms of production, but the electric pickup market is expected to grow rapidly in the next few years. Ford sold 1,837 electric F-150 Lightnings pickups in June, bringing the total to 2,296 since production began in late May.

From the start of production in late 2021 to the end of June, Rivian has produced a total of 7,969 vehicles.
