Google Calendar: This is how the integration of Google Keep should continue

The Google calendar is to receive innovations. This is reported by 9to5Google, who have dug through the APK of the current Android app. The focus is on replacing “Assistant Reminders” with Google Task. Existing tasks will soon also be migrated to Google Task – including integration into Google Calendar. According to the APK analysis, one should be forced to change in the future.

What did you spot in the code? Google is dovetailing tasks more closely with Workspace. This should also be accompanied by easier management of the tasks. Currently, Google Tasks does not support location-based reminders – stored locations are therefore currently assigned to the task description. The location trigger for “Reminders” has already been removed. If you were hoping that they would come back with Google Keep, you will probably be disappointed (at least for the time being).

There is still no Google Keep integration. Reminders created in Google Keep will not be converted into tasks. With its note functionality, Keep allows you to add images to tasks – you still have to miss this with Google Tasks.

For the change, the reminder function will remain largely unchanged in Keep – otherwise, there will be no further integration into the calendar. So far, Workspace customers, in particular, have benefited from the migration.
