Google Play Store revamped for tablets and Chromebooks

There are also pending updates for the Google Play Store for mobile devices with larger displays. Now Google is starting to improve. These days that means an upgrade to Material You with a few changes before the big redesign is rolled out. For the Play Store, Material You means, for example, a new design for the buttons and, of course, various color adjustments. As a rule, angular edges are strongly rounded, the main menu is now on the left side.

Step-by-step design update: Material You the first step for a new Play Store on tablets and Chromebooks

This is how the Play Store looks after the recent update on Android tablets and Chromebooks:

Google Play Store: The real new design is yet to come

But that was by no means all and one can ask oneself why Google initially delivers the update just described. A completely new design had been presented a while ago. The Play Store is still being completely restructured for tablets and devices with large displays. So why an interim update?

With the introduction of the new design in the coming months, Google is also planning a new logo for its own app store. This appeared for the first time a few days ago but has not yet been officially presented. It looks more modern and bolder.

Google Play Store is in the process of being greatly improved and renewed for all platforms

What I want to say positively at this point: Google has just revised the Play Store in all colors and shapes and for all platforms – even the web version, which has been forgotten for years. However, the rollout of the updates is far from finished. I would have been happy if it all happened in one go.
