PUBG Battlegrounds: 4K and 60fps on Xbox Series X and 1440p on PS5 with the next patch

PUBG: Battlegrounds ‘ next update, Patch 18.2, will bring with it a number of optimizations for the console versions of Krafton’s free-to-play battle royale. In particular, Xbox Series X and PS5 will benefit: on the Microsoft console it will run in 4K and 60 fps, while on the Sony flagship at 1440p and 60 fps.

The confirmation comes from the official notes of the update, where the developers have revealed that an option will also be introduced to choose whether to use the FXAA or TAA anti-aliasing filter on PS5, PS4 Pro, Xbox Series X and Xbox One X. The second improves visual rendering but could cause ghosting when the framerate drops below the 60 fps threshold.

As mentioned at the beginning, the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of PUBG: Battlegrounds have also been improved. Both were running at a maximum of 1080p and 60 fps, but thanks to the patch on Xbox Series X it will be possible to play in 4K and 60 fps, while on PS5 in 1440p and 60 fps (if you use a 4K screen, otherwise the resolution drops to 1080p since PS5 does not natively support QHD output).

Excellent news also for Xbox Series S owners: previously PUBG: Battlegrounds ran at 30fps, while thanks to the update it will reach 60fps in Full HD.
