BMW sales down 13.3% YOY in H1 2022, but EV sales double

BMW Group announced its car sales in the first half of 2022 on July 8. The company’s three major brands BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce sold a total of 1,160,443 vehicles, still leading the luxury car market, but down 13.3% year on year.

Among them, the sales of pure electric vehicles performed well. The BMW Group sold nearly 76,000 all-electric vehicles of BMW and MINI in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 110%.

In terms of domestic deliveries in China, BMW delivered a total of 378,727 BMW and MINI brand vehicles in China in the first half of the year, of which the sales of pure electric models continued their strong momentum, up 74.6% year-on-year.

According to the plan, in 2022, the BMW Group intends to double the sales of pure electric vehicles compared with 2021; by 2025, the BMW Group plans to deliver a total of 2 million pure electric vehicles worldwide.
