Recently, lots of Samsung devices (flagship or mid-range) have received the current month’s patch – July 2022 security update in different continents. Earlier, Samsung rolled out June 2022 security patch update to its Galaxy Z Fold 2 in Europe.
Now, at this time, a well-known US carrier Verizon released the latest July 2022 security patch update in the US with the camera features. Samsung’s Expert RAW is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 owners in the US. So you can experience the Pro level photography. As per the Verizon official, this update comes with the build number F916USQU2HVF1.
On the other hand, this update also introduced Enhanced Night portrait mode that lets you capture bright portraits in low-light or dark areas. Below you can check the official changelog.

What’s changing:
This software update brings the latest security patch and support for BYOD (“bring your own device”) when making the switch to Verizon from select carriers. It also includes new Camera enhancements and the new Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) feature, which allows you to use two phone numbers on the same device.
BYOD (“bring your own device”)
If you’re not already on Verizon’s 5G Nationwide network, Galaxy Z Fold2 5G users from other North American carriers will now be able to bring their device and instantly switch to a better network. Just insert and activate a new Verizon SIM card in your Galaxy Z Fold2 device and your device will automatically adapt to the Verizon network and experiences.
Camera
Advanced Auto Framing lets you automatically focus the camera on people/subjects while recording a video. It can detect people and their distance, and automatically shift focus and zoom to provide the best picture. To use Auto Framing:
- On the shooting modes list, tap VIDEO, tap the Capture button to activate it and then record a video.
- To track and adjust the shooting angle and zoom in on a selected person, tap the frame that is displayed around the person.
- To deactivate, tap the frame again.

Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS)
DSDS enables you to use two phone numbers on the same or different networks with Dual SIM support. You can register 1 physical SIM and 1 eSIM on your Galaxy Z Fold2 5G device. Send and receive calls and messages on either phone number. One mobile data network can be used at a time as DDS (Designated Data Subscription). You can set the primary SIM and default phone number in Settings > Connections.
Owners of the Galaxy Z Fold 2 can receive notification of this update. If you don’t receive an update notification, check the update manually by going to the device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.
Note: Before upgrading to the latest version make sure your smartphone is connected with a proper internet connection, we recommend you to download it over WIFI so that you will not face any errors.
