Nintendo Switch: How to disable data sharing with Google

With the Nintendo Switch 11.0 update, available from the end of 2020, support for Google Analytics was introduced, which automatically shares data with Google without asking the user. Recently this feature has returned to the spotlight, creating some concern for those who care about their privacy.

Fortunately, the feature can be locked and privacy can be easily restored. Let’s see what are the steps to do it:

  • Enter the eShop
  • Select the section of your profile where your remaining funds and account information are visible
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page
  • Look for the item relating to the Google Analytics settings
  • Select “Edit”
  • Select “Do not share”

Keeping Google out of your console will do nothing but good. Giving users the choice of whether or not to send their data should become standard, almost hygienic practice.
