Future iPad comes with 14-inch display, in-screen Face ID, OLED screen and more

Display analyst Ross Young predicted today that Apple plans to make a series of major upgrades to the iPad lineup over the next few years, including new 14-inch and 11-inch versions with OLED screens, as well as under-screen TrueDepth technology and foldables Screen.

Young no longer believes that the 14.-inch iPad, which will be released early next year, will continue to use mini-LED technology, but will use the same LCD screen as the current iPad Air.

The 11-inch iPad Pro will continue to use current technology, and Apple has no plans to upgrade the 11-inch iPad Pro to min-LED or Liquid Retina XDR. Apple plans to directly upgrade the 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros to OLED technology in 2024. Apple believes that the 11-inch OLED iPad Pro will sell more than the 12.9-inch OLED iPad Pro.

Young also said that the TrueDepth technology under the screen, that is, the face ID under the screen, will first land on the iPad, followed by the iPhone. On the iPad, it’s better to use Face ID on the screen due to the huge internal space.

At the same time, iPad sales are also lower, which can meet demand without causing supply shortages. The iPhone product line will not be logged in until the on-screen Face ID is successful on the iPad. Finally, Young thinks the foldable iPad will be the first to come.
