Samsung: Plans to sell $1 billion Galaxy M series phones in India this year

Samsung’s Galaxy M series covers some of Samsung’s cheap Android phones. The phones are initially only available in India. Since then, Samsung will release new Galaxy M-series phones to other markets around the world.

Samsung launched the Galaxy M13 and Galaxy M13 5G phones in India today. Samsung plans to sell $1 billion worth of Galaxy M phones in India this year, a senior Samsung official said.

According to Aditya Babbar, senior director and head of product marketing at Samsung India, Samsung aims to sell $1 billion worth of Galaxy M phones by 2022. He said that the first half of this year was very strong, with sales up 20% year-on-year.

“Since 2019, we’ve had 42 million M-Series consumers. We have very aggressive plans for this year. We’ve set a target of $1 billion in sales from M-Series this year,” said Aditya Babbar.

India is one of Samsung’s most profitable markets. The company has a particular focus on this market, which has allowed it to maintain its leadership. The latest data from market research firm Counterpoint shows that Samsung’s overall value market share in India in Q1 2022 has grown from 20% in the same period in 2021 to 22.6%. The company’s mobile phone market share in the range of INR 10,000 – INR 40,000 has jumped from 21.4% in the same period to 26.9%.
