Redmi K50i completes 5G test in India: Its first model to support 12 5G frequency bands

Xiaomi Redmi India and Reliance Jio issued a joint announcement that the upcoming Redmi K50i model in India has been tested with Jio for 5G in India, and the phone performed well in the 5G network test.

Officially, 5G testing involves placing smartphones under extreme conditions to determine their 5G performance and feature usage. The goal is to provide users of smartphones with a smooth web experience when using the Redmi K50i.

The Redmi K50i is the first model under Redmi to be equipped with 12 5G frequency bands. Xiaomi India says the success of the K50i 5G network test is a positive leap for India’s digital revolution.

The Indian government will auction the 72097.85MHz spectrum, which is valid for 20 years, by the end of July, and the first 5G services in India will be launched in 13 major cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Pune, Chennai, Gandhi Nagar, Jamnagar, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chandigarh.

The Redmi K50i will be released in India on July 20, local time, equipped with the Dimensity 8100 chip. According to the news, Xiaomi Redmi K50i is expected to be a rebranded model of the Redmi Note 11T Pro +, which is also equipped with a Dimensity 8100 chip, with a 6.6-inch 144Hz IPS LCD (FHD+, 20.5:9) screen, 64MP+8MP+ 2MP rear camera, and 16MP front camera, 3.5mm jack and 4400mAh battery with 120W fast charging support (50% in 10 minutes, 0-100% in 19 minutes, 100% in 19 minutes).
