God of War 5 Actor: Tyre is not copying the myth and has different experiences

Kratos and Atreus will play against many new characters in God of War: Ragnarok, such as Odin, Thor, Freya, God of Eros, Tyr, God of War and Justice, etc. Now, according to foreign media Gamingbolt, Tyre’s motion capture + voice actor Jon Pendergast said in an interview that in “God of War 5” Tyre is not copying the myth, but has a completely different experience.

Jon Pendergast discusses the anecdote of how Tyr was bitten off by an arm in Norse mythology by the giant wolf Fenrir (interestingly, Fenrir was Loki, the son of Atreus). He then said that the Santa Monica studio drew on parts of Norse mythology when developing God of War 5, but some content was imbued with its own style.

There’s a lot of Norse lore in this game, but Santa Monica studios can deviate from that lore at any time if they want,” Pendergast said. “They built their own story, so Tyr’s experience in the game may be different from the mythology. , but it was fun, it was really fun to find him.”

Pendergast also revealed that when Kratos and Atreus first found Tyre, he had already been through something, trying to adjust to the new environment, but was in an awkward situation. Pendergast also talks about playing Tyr himself, and how the behind-the-scenes motion capture work brought Tyr to life. God of War: Ragnarok will be released on November 9 for PS4 and PS5. Pre-orders are currently open.
