AirPods Pro 2 has a pairing threshold, only iPhone 11 and newer devices can get full functionality

AirPods Pro 2 is expected to be released with the iPhone 14 series at this fall conference. The latest news says that if you want to experience the full functionality of AirPods Pro 2, you need at least iPhone 11 and newer devices. Well-known whistleblower ShrimpApplePro revealed in a tweet: ” It is worth mentioning here that the full functionality of AirPods Pro 2 requires iPhone 11 and newer devices, some iPads and Mac devices using Apple Silicon.”

It is reported that the AirPods Pro 2 is expected to be equipped with an enhanced chip and support Lossless Audio. The tweet believes that AirPods Pro 2 sets a threshold for pairing devices, and only eligible devices can get full functionality.

According to the current information, iPhone 11 is the first iPhone equipped with a U1 chip, while Mac devices have transitioned to self-developed Apple Silicon such as M1/M2. These compatible features may include Lossless Audio, enhanced tracking charging case, and more.

Unfortunately, according to the current information, AirPods Pro 2 does not introduce any health-related features, but Apple may introduce it in future iterations. Regardless of the device paired with the AirPods Pro 2, Apple is expected to improve active noise cancellation and enhance battery life.
