Google had confirmed new Pixelbooks, but nobody noticed

Late last year, Google folks were rather negative about upcoming Pixelbooks. In May of the current year, however, the hardware boss is said to have given good news.

Google also revealed that there should be new Pixelbooks again

The exciting thing is that no one noticed. After we had come to terms with the fact that there were no more new Pixelbooks for the time being, Rick Osterloh divulged exciting information to renowned American tech media. However, in a subordinate clause that many people completely missed.

Rick Osterloh has confirmed to The Verge that Google has more new Pixelbooks planned. No word on when, but new ChromeOS devices from Google are firmly in the pipeline for the future. The Verge is deeply involved with Google, the US colleagues even had complete exclusive stories about new devices for a while.

„Osterloh did say Google plans to make more Pixelbooks, by the way, but he wouldn’t say when.“

Tablets, smartwatches and soon Chromebooks again?

We and our colleagues would not be surprised if we were given a Pixelbook with Google Tensor in the future. Maybe next year. We can’t see that at the moment. But I would be keen if, after smartwatches and tablets, Google tackles this category again with renewed vigour.

The last own ChromeOS notebook was the Pixelbook Go and that was three years ago. Unfortunately, Google had not brought a single one of its own Chromebooks to Europe or Germany. So we’ve been keen on this for a long time and would be very happy to see a new strategy.

Such a device would be another step towards a complete ecosystem. A great deal has been done on the software side over the past two years.
