Google shows all previous Pixel phones

It’s really close to twelve now, the new Google Pixel 6a is coming up. It is part of what is now a pretty decent history that Google has been building for six years now. To get the fans in the mood, there was now a picture from Google that shows all Pixel smartphones that have been released so far.

We see that Google recently also fundamentally oriented the models to the design of the flagships. Especially with the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3, the devices were almost indistinguishable. Not so with the Pixel 4a, which provided the basis for a slightly different look at the time.

Google almost always had its own design and did not only follow current trends

If I look at the first two generations, they were definitely decent attempts. The design with the two-part back made of glass, which is shiny on top and matt on the bottom, was only really successful with the Pixel 3. That’s when I realized that I’d really like to have the colored power button back. Today, Google revisits the design of the first three generations, albeit in two different shades.

The Pixel 6a follows the old law again when it comes to design heritage. It comes a few months after the flagship devices and will follow that design. What will be new in the Pixel 7 devices doesn’t play into the design of the Pixel 6a just yet. However, these are only small changes that may not immediately catch the eye of everyone.

I like the look of the new Pixel 6 phones, but the compact Pixel 5 was a pleasure to hold. The Pixel 4 in the black and white Stormtrooper look is probably the favorite design of the last few years.
