Edge browser is testing a new command panel

Microsoft is now testing the Command Palette on Edge Canary version 105 and later, which comes with the different web developer tools that already exist on Edge, but the new Command Palette is easier to access. Microsoft points out that the Command Palette is similar to those in VS Code and PowerToys, making the experience more familiar.

The Command Palette can be launched via the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Space and provides browser management and development tools. That said, web developers can easily and quickly access options for mobile device emulation, cache clearing, collection management features, bookmarks, tag management, and more.

Users with Edge Canary version 105 and above can enable this new feature by launching Edge and going to edge://version, then edge://flags. In the search flags text field, just type DevTools Toaster or Command Palette and you’ll see a drop-down menu. After selecting Enable, click the Restart button that appears in the lower right corner. After restarting, the Command Palette can be invoked using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Shift+Space.

Microsoft has also released support documentation for the Command Palette, detailing how to use the keyboard, including opening device emulation tools, creating and accessing code snippets, and managing browser tabs.
