A OnePlus 10T will come, that’s for sure. Just yesterday, OnePlus officially confirmed the smartphone, which will be revealed to the world on August 3rd. Away from the launch event, there has been little talkative about technical details so far. It would have been surprising if there had been radio silence until launch day, without any further PR tidbits.
Only the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 had been officially confirmed for the upcoming flagship. The latest chip from the Qualcomm portfolio will therefore fuel the smartphone. OnePlus is now giving a preview of the camera. As is well known, I and many others were disappointed with the OnePlus 10 Pro because the ultra wide-angle camera represents a step backward from the 9 Pro.
But what about the 10T, at least on paper? Well, that’s where the 50-megapixel IMX766 from Sony comes in. Not an unknown and also not a bad sensor. Among other things, it performs quite well in the Nothing phone (1). The 9 Pro, provides a good ultra wide-angle camera. OIS and ICE? are included.
Exciting: The 10T does not rely on the Hasselblad branding. Nevertheless, support for 10-bit color depth is included. The other two lenses are an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 120-degree field of view and a macro snap.
Apart from the hardware, the software has also been polished. This includes a new Image Clarity Engine (ICE). When the shutter is released, several photos are taken at the same time and the smartphone saves the best image selected according to algorithms. The new version should work faster now. The processing of HDR and RAW has also been improved. OnePlus continues to use Nightscape for night shots.
