USA Police arrest two auto theft suspects by tracking stolen AirPods

Recently, a series of car thefts occurred in the United States Bay Area, and through a pair of stolen AirPods, the police quickly identified the suspect through the Find My app and finally successfully arrested the suspect. Berkeley police arrested a man and a woman in July as part of an investigation into auto thefts in the San Francisco-area city, local media Berkeleyside reported Thursday.

According to information provided by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office, Oakland deputies tracked down a pair of stolen AirPods through Find My and eventually locked down the two suspects. Officers then located a car parked in a Walgreens parking lot that was one of the missing in a recent spate of car thefts.

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office dispatched a plane to track the car. The suspect fled from an attempted stop in Oakland. The chase led police through multiple cities, including Oakland, San Leandro, Richmond, Albany and Berkeley. Police eventually found the suspects in Berkeley and stopped the Audi they were driving.
