Google continues to remove the word “Go” from its small apps for Android Go. After the Galleria app, the company has now removed this brand from the Camera Go app as well, renaming it “Camera from Google”.
In mid-May, Google released version 3.3 of its Camera app for low-performance Android smartphones, introducing a lighter user interface and a counter that indicates how many more photos can be captured with the remaining storage.
This update has also renamed the app from “Camera Go” to “Camera” with a new icon similar to the one found on Google Pixel series smartphones, while now the Play Store lists the app with the new name “Camera from Google”.
The Camera Go app becomes “Camera da Google”
As the YouTube Go app will also be phased out soon, Google is likely to have major changes in mind for the Android 12 Go platform which is expected to be announced later this year. However, it is unclear whether the Mountain View company intends to apply only a rebranding or if it has in mind to adopt a new approach to reach new users.
