Fourth beta of iOS 16 for developers released

Apple is currently in the process of building the next major operating system versions for its devices and, as usual, lets registered developers and testers who got the profile participate. Now a button has been pressed again in Cupertino and the fourth beta has been released for developers – not only for iOS, by the way, but in this case also for iPadOS.

As of beta three, there’s a look at the new iCloud shared photo library, changes to the lock screen, the integration of today’s reminders in the icon badge, and more. Beta 4 will certainly also have a few changes ready, which we will of course report on here as soon as we have an overview of them.

If you have a developer profile on your device, you can try the system update in the settings. The new beta for macOS Ventura, the Apple Watch, the Apple TV and the HomePods will certainly be released soon.

If your iPhone or iPad is already running the latest iOS 16 beta:

  1. Open the Home app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Tap the “…” button in the upper right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap Home Settings.
  4. Choose the Software Update option.
  5. Go to the HomePod Beta Updates menu.
  6. Switch on the toggles for the HomePods you want to install the beta software on.
