Google brings new photos option only for Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro

Google introduced a new magic eraser option on the Pixel 6a. It is now known when and for which other Pixel phones the rollout will start.

Launch of a new option in Google Photos now known

As mentioned elsewhere, the magic eraser gets the second option in Google Photos. Officially introduced with Pixel 6a. The new option allows you to color match very conspicuous objects to the rest of the image. As with the first original option in the magic eraser, you mark the object with your finger and the rest happens completely automatically.

That could then look something like this:

Magic eraser: The second option only comes on a few pixel models

We already suspected that the new feature would be coming to other devices in the Pixel series very soon. Google has now commented on this to American media. There is said that the camouflage feature is coming to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Not on older models of the Pixel series, at least not via the official route. A Google spokesman revealed the day of the update.

It starts on July 28th when Google delivers the Pixel 6a to customers. Google should then roll out an app update for Google Photos. Or unlock the option remotely, because it’s probably already integrated into the Photos app.

Google Tensor potentially crucial for a new feature

It is quite possible that this option is only explicitly available for models with the Google Tensor platform. If more options are planned in the future, for example with the launch of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, these could end up on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a. And that is likely to continue in the future. In the future, there should be no more pixel phones or tablets without a tensor.
