Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has unveiled new information about Rockstar Games and GTA 6, the highly anticipated and much talked about action game, through an article by the journalist’s newspaper. The reporter revealed information about the characters and the tone of the game, which will be different.
As indicated, GTA 6 will include a female playable character. The woman will be of Latin origin and will be one of two main characters, in a story that has been influenced by Bonnie and Clyde, known robbers.
Schreier also explains that Rockstar Games has, at least in part, changed the style of Grand Theft Auto with GTA 6. The new chapter, in fact, was written trying to avoid negative jokes aimed at marginalized groups, unlike what happened with previous games. This is not actually a novelty: we remember that the company has removed transphobic jokes from the most recent games of Grand Theft Auto.
It is then explained that the machining name of GTA 6 is Project Americas. The main setting will be a fictional version of Miami and the surrounding areas. Initially, the game was supposed to include large sections of North and South America, but beyond the design phase, Rockstar has reduced the scale of the project. However, it seems that Rockstar’s intention is to evolve the game over time, adding new cities.
The game world also seems to be really big and there are more internal locations than in previous chapters of the series. According to Bloomberg sources, GTA 6 does not have a release date for now, not even internally: at least, it is said, it will take another two years. Development began in 2014, but progress is slow and this has also caused some designers from the Rockstar Edinburgh team to leave, dissatisfied with the pace of work.
