Highlights the navigation bar by Gboard themes

The latest design of Gboard brings Material You increases. This small update pulls Gboard themes to extend to the navigation bar on more Android phones. Through Material You, you can customize your phone as you want, like there is a color palette that can help in to modify icons, menus, and more.

For Google Pixel phones, or other OnePlus/Oppo devices this type of UI is not new for them. This Gboard theme extends to the nav bar so that the background of this thin strip looks the same for a more seamless visual experience. It is visible in most colorful backgrounds like Dynamic Color, while on dark/light themes difference is very less noticeable.

Now about the other phone, it’s not any change in the navigation bar (gesture or 3-button) still the same black or white (depending on the system theme) for a somewhat jarring mismatch.

Gboard changed currently the keyboard highlights navigation bars on many more Android devices. They started this change back in May. Samsung device based on Android 12 now running on this latest Gboard beta (12.0).
