PUBG adds 80,000 new players every day

PUBG developer Krafton has released its latest earnings report. In addition to the financial numbers, the report also sheds light on how the game has fared recently. PUBG for consoles and PC recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, with more than 80,000 new players joining every day since it transitioned to free-to-play in January 2022, Krafton said.

However, Krafton didn’t reveal how many players might leave PUBG on a daily basis, nor did he provide any details on active players. In any case, average revenue per user also increased, up 20% from the previous quarter. However, the specific number Krafton did not disclose.

PUBG M also did well, contributing $550.7 million to Krafton’s total revenue in the first half of the year. Krafton’s newest game, PUBG: New World, also saw an increase in total play time and frequency in the most recent quarter.

In the first half of 2022, Krafton achieved total revenue of $729.5 million, an increase of nearly 3% year on year. Profits rose, even more, rising nearly 31% year over year to $338.4 million. This is the highest half-year net profit in Krafton’s history. For the second quarter, revenue fell 7.77% to $326.5 million, but total profit surged 37.26% to $149.4 million.
