Today’s generation smartphones are equipped with a punch-hole and notch front camera as well as in display camera. Apart from all this, if we talk about the old thick frame, then only Sony Xperia’s camera is on a slightly thicker frame. But it may change.
Sony believes that it will not introduce a punch-hole front camera in the future. Instead, the upcoming Sony Xperia 1 V will probably have a new type of front camera. This is called a micro-hole camera and is built into the frame.
Sony is said to have developed a compound-eye front camera called “Micro Matrix”, which can be built into the smartphone. Advantages, notch and punch hole are superfluous, the frame of the smartphone remains thin and no complex camera has to be installed under the display.
“Micro Matrix” is a new technology that incorporates several small front cameras and synthesizes the images captured by these cameras. The development of this camera has probably been completed and mass production has already begun.
