Microsoft Edge browser Beta 105 goes live

Recently, many new features appeared in the Edge browser and some other functions are also included. Now, according to the Microsoft official report, Edge Browsers 105 beta update now live for the beta tester. In this update, Microsoft brings feature changes, underlying improvements, and policy updates. You can check the complete changelog which is mentioned below.

Edge Beta 105 Changelog:

Feature update:

  • Improve cloud site list management experience in IE mode. Users can revert to one of the last 3 published versions of the site list in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  • Improvements to the IE mode cloud site list management experience are now available in GCC. Users can identify gaps in the list of enterprise sites by configuring site feedback reports using the InternetExplorerIntegrationCloudUserSitesReporting and InternetExplorerIntegrationCloudNeutralSitesReporting policies. Users can view local site list URLs and possibly misconfigured neutral site URLs from users in the Microsoft Edge site list experience in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Additionally, users can configure session cookie sharing between Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer for IE mode in the sites list in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Policy update:

  • ExemptFileTypeDownloadWarnings – Disables download file type extension-based warnings for the specified file type on the domain
  • InternetExplorerIntegrationAlwaysWaitForUnload – Wait for Internet Explorer modal tabs to completely unload before ending the browser session
  • MicrosoftEditorProofingEnabled – Spell checking provided by Microsoft Editor
  • MicrosoftEditorSynonymsEnabled – Provides synonyms when using the Microsoft Editor spell checker
  • PrintPdfAsImageDefault – print PDF as default image
  • UnthrottledNestedTimeoutEnabled – JavaScript setTimeout will not be throttled until a higher nesting threshold is set

In addition to the above changes, Microsoft Edge 105 supports Encrypted Client Hello, a new TLS extension that prevents metadata leakage during encrypted key exchanges between clients and servers.

Microsoft plans to release the stable and official version of Edge 105 to all users in the week of September 1, 2022. Meanwhile, users can download the Edge 105 Beta from the Edge Insider website. The browser is available for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, iOS systems.
