[Update: YouTube Too] Android 13 media player supported apps

Google launches Android 13 for Pixel phones a few days before. Android 13 brings some changes in the UI of some apps like media player, lock screen, and notification. For this version, all music apps, podcasts, and audio apps are not updated to support the media player. In this, some lists of control modernized for media players. The Android 13 media controls are taller than the media controls that exist in Android 12. Now, it shows the compact view as compared to before shows rectangular view before.

In Android 13, those apps which support media players appear in the top-left corner, and control of device output is the same as opposing it. The song/podcasts and artist names appear below the next lines. In this, version the play/pause button change from circle to square and shows at the right edge. There is a delightful touch that comes after the progress bar which squiggles to note which track you already listened to.

Those apps which are not updated for Android 13 in their UI bottom row is very packed and all button appears in single lines. The progress bar also appears far to the left. The controls of the media player are shown on the right including pause, forward, and rewind. Here list below of some apps updated for this OS.

Updated for Android 13:

  • First Google Podcasts which is part of the Google app.
  • If we need to play media player from the web so Chrome help in that.
  • One more YouTube Music.
  • Now, that YouTube is in beta it will be stable soon.

Some apps won’t update yet:

  • Some apps do not generate the system audio and interact with the in-app controls/UI. For example, the Recorder of Google Pixel
  • Google Play Books
  • Apple Music
  • Spotify
  • SoundCloud
  • Tidal
  • Pandora

The redesign of the media player improves the listening experience of songs before and some supported apps are also part of it
